What does it cost to join?

Nothing. There is no listing fee, no subscription and no charge for keeping a profile up. We take a 10% platform fee on confirmed bookings only — you keep 90%.

When do I actually get the money?

The customer pays a 50% advance to confirm the booking, and it is held by the platform. After you deliver and the customer confirms and pays the balance, your 90% is released to your linked bank account.

What if the customer disappears after delivery?

Bookings auto-confirm 5 days after delivery. You are not left waiting on someone who has stopped replying.

Can I get double-booked?

No. A slot is claimed atomically when a booking is made, and the database itself refuses a second booking on the same slot. Studios claim a free eligible crew member rather than the studio as a whole.

Do I have to give up my direct clients?

No. MyShootMate is for the bookings you get through MyShootMate. Your existing clients stay exactly as they are.

How is my ranking decided?

By your KLIQS Score: ratings, on-time delivery, low cancellations and completed volume. There is no promoted placement to buy and no ad auction to outbid you — the only way up the results is to do good work.

What is the KLIQS Score?

It is our trust metric: one number out of 100 on your profile, built from your average rating, whether you delivered inside the window you promised, how rarely you cancel, and how much completed work is behind you. It is the default sort order for customers. Nobody can pay to raise it and nobody — including us — can edit it by hand. Studios get a studio score plus a separate score for each crew member.

I am brand new. Does a zero score bury me?

No. With no completed bookings you have no score at all, and you show as New rather than badly rated — an empty record is not a bad record. The score starts building from your first completed booking.

What is KYC for, and what do you need?

Accepted Answer

Identity and payout details, so customers know a real, checked business is behind the profile and so we can pay you. A profile cannot go live until it is approved. If something is missing we tell you exactly what, and you can resubmit.

I run a studio with several photographers. Does that work?

Accepted Answer

Yes — that is a first-class case. Add each crew member with their role and specialities, set availability per person, and mark which roles are eligible for each package. Bookings are assigned to a free eligible crew member.

What happens if I have to cancel?

Accepted Answer

The customer is refunded in full and the cancellation counts against your KLIQS Score. It is meant to be rare, and the score is what makes it matter.

If I sign up now, what do I get?

A real account on the live platform, created today, plus your first package saved as a draft in your dashboard if you fill in that step. When we launch, you log in and finish the parts that need our team — KYC approval, portfolio, availability — and go live ahead of everyone who waited.

Do I pay more for booking through MyShootMate?

No. Prices are all-in — our fee is carved out of the photographer's side, not added to yours. The number on the card is the number you pay.

Why pay upfront at all?

Accepted Answer

The 50% advance is what reserves the date, and it is held by us rather than handed over. The photographer knows the booking is real; you know your money has not left the building.

What if the photos never arrive?

You never pay the balance, and you can raise a dispute. Funds stay held while our team reviews it, and a refund is issued if the dispute is upheld.

Can I change the date?

Yes. Reschedule to any free slot with the same photographer. Your advance carries over, and you see the old price, new price and the difference before you confirm anything.

What if I cancel?

Refunds follow a published, time-based policy shown on every profile before you book. Cancel early and you get a defined portion back; cancel very close to the date and the advance is forfeit.

What is the KLIQS Score I keep seeing?

It is MyShootMate's own measure of how good a photographer actually is — one number out of 100, and the higher it is, the better. It combines their average rating with whether they deliver on time, how rarely they cancel, and how much completed work is behind them. Nobody can pay for a higher score, nobody can edit it, and there is no promoted placement on the platform. It is the default sort order, so the photographers at the top of your results are simply the ones with the best record.

Are the reviews real?

They have to be. Only the customer on a completed booking can leave a review, one per booking, and it cannot be edited afterwards.

Does the photographer come to me?

Accepted Answer

Depends on the package. Outdoor packages include the photographer travelling to your location. Indoor packages mean you visit the studio — the address and directions are on the page.

Do I need an account just to look?

Accepted Answer

No. Browsing, portfolios, packages, prices, policies and availability are all open. You only sign in when you are ready to book.
